Term is still comfortably far off - the "back to school" angst definitely hasn't set in yet. But I don't think it'll be so bad this year. Not only has it been a great summer, but we've got so much planned for next year. Perhaps most exciting is our new partnership with Teatulia, and the Crossing the Alps Challenge which they've made possible. But then there are also all the small things; new kit, new weekly rides, the fresher's fair, new bottles (cannot wait for the custom bottles), redesigned kit and a whole raft of other plans.
That's not to say the club hasn't been busy over the summer though. A steady spin down to Brighton seemed like a good way to regroup while enjoying the decent weather and get out of the humid grey tangle of London. We didn't take it too fast and definitely took our time at a handful of snack stops - a pretty ideal holiday trip. Earlier in the summer Marlene tackled a pretty monstrous multi-day ride up the coast towards Scotland too, which was awe inspiring while other members of the club have been settling back into the roads near their homes.
All of this has gotten me very eager for LSECC Sunday rides this year, even if most of them will be a few degrees warmer, and showing new members the routes we discovered in 2017.
